Jewelry Box

Though I don’t wear very many accessories, I actually have quite a collection. Most of it is vintage costume jewelry from my mom; I’ve never been big on real jewelry, since I have a tendency to lose or ruin it. My little jewelry box only hold about a tenth of what I own. The rest is stored in random jewelry boxes, necklace stands and on my dress form. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite pieces with you.

A floral locket from Kellyssima (she has two more available at her site). One of my newest additions, but already dear to my heart. The photos are of Rowdy, my horse who recently passed – and my little pup Miku. I get teary eyed every time I look at it; Rowdy was my family for over twenty years.
I certainly need to acquire more lockets, because I have a few critters who probably feel jilted. My baby pony Shawn needs a spot of his own.

This vintage ring and matching necklace were purchased in two separate states! My mom was on a mission to find a matching ring for the necklace and succeeded. She and my stepdad gave these to me for my birthday and Christmas, respectively. I adore the fragile hands.

Vintage fishies and frames – more gifts from my mom. The glasses are a little too small but I still love them.

A beauty from Corvus Noir.

This isn’t jewelry (though I also love the bakelite bracelet above it), but it has sentimental value. It’s my mom’s old nametag from her job as a waitress, at a Boca hotel. As a single mom with three kids and no child support, she worked several jobs to make ends meet. It’s a reminder of where I came from, and how to get where I’m going. Love love,
Keiko Lynn

  1. What a great collection! Those glasses are my fave! And now that I think of it, I've got a couple lockets that have been out of use for quite some time…maybe I should bring them back again 🙂 Thanks for sharing

  2. I'm so jealous about your jewelry collection!:) My favourite one is the vintage hands and pearls necklace.
    Sooo.. unique!:) Thanks for sharing.
xx, Alice from bells and whistles 🙂

  3. Love your jewelries very impressive.

Losing a pet is quite hard I know the feeling.

I love lockets & fishes! I have a few lockets of my own. I usually don't wear jewelries…I am allergic to some metals and break out in rash.

    Thanks for sharing.

  4. oh those frames! I'm so jealous. I desperately want to find a nice vintage pair of frames the next time I need to get glasses. & I just love the shot of the jewelry box. It looks like there's all kind of wonderfulness in there.

  5. I have never seen anything like those hand pieces before: so delicate and lovely! How she was able to hunt the other one down, I have no idea.

I thinks it's darling that you hold on to your mom's old name-tag: I bet that makes her feel extra special and appreciated.

Animals really are our babies, huh? 🙂
