Even though there are windy, frigid days that make it feel as though it will last forever, New York Fashion Week marks the beginning of the end of winter — hooray! Many attendees have already left it by the wayside, refusing to bundle up and give in to the temptation of a sleeve – or maybe they’re from out of town, and have no idea how to dress for this weather. I’m looking at you, LA girls, but I’m not judging. I’ve been there. Florida wasn’t exactly the best preparation for any season but summer.

I too get tired of clunky snow boots and oppressive outerwear, so I take any chance to shed my scarf and a layer or two, weather permitting. I’ve talked about how much weather affects my moods, and this year is no exception — hence the bright yellow coat, mixed prints, and pops of red from my head-to-toe Boden outfits. The cozy turtleneck, tailored trench, and high-waisted skinny jeans  were a sharp, neutral contrast to my casual Valentine’s Day outfit of hearts, relaxed denim, and a slouchy coat and beanie. What can I say? Sometimes I like to dress like a grown up. Other times…not so much. It just depends on my mood, which happens to depend on the weather.
