It may surprise you to know that I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. Don’t get me wrong: I love cake and donuts and other treats, and I love to end a meal on a sweet note, but give me a bite or two and I’m done (unless it’s a DKA from Dominique Ansel). Despite my greater desire for a savory meal than a sugary dessert, some of my favorite spots in the city are ones that specialize in the latter. I’ve highlighted the nostalgic Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain in my miniĀ Brooklyn guide; it’s a spot we’ve frequented for years. My love for their interior is just as great as my cravings for their treats (the chocolate egg cream and the Pink Poodle float are two favorites!) — it’s like stepping back in time. Naturally I feel right at home, with my bouffant hairdo (tutorial here), scarf, andĀ cat-eye glasses, which I paired with my newĀ Kate Spade New York for Minnie Mouse sweaterĀ and Minnie-appropriate polka dot jeans. If you ever find yourself in Brooklyn, make sure to stop by Farmacy and treat yourself to a sundae, shake, or an egg cream!
