Skin Care: StriVectin Tightening Neck Cream

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned on snapchat and my insta stories that I’ve been testing out StriVectin TL Advanced™ Light Tightening Neck Cream (which was supplied to me by the brand, as a sample), and I promised to report back. I’ve only been using it for 21 days, so I think it’s a little too soon to determine its long term results — but I’ve been loving it, so far. Helena and I have both been testing it out, as we do. Skin care dominates many of our conversations; we also have a group text with our friend Amy, where we swap new favorite products. That’s why you’ll often see some overlap in our routines. It’s not a coincidence! Sharing is caring.

I’ll definitely check back in with you all (and my mom, who has also been inquiring!), once I finish the whole jar, because the biggest determining factor in “Is this going to be a regular part of my routine?” is the purchase of a replacement. I’m pretty confident that I will be buying a second jar, because I skipped it for a couple of days and ended up feeling like something was missing. Simply put: I love the texture, and I love the way it makes my neck feel. It firms, but not in that itchy, tight and dry way. It’s really hydrating and thick, but not heavy or greasy. I also want to note that I’ve been testing out the light version, not the original formula, since a few of you asked. I haven’t tried the original, so I can’t compare — but I really like the consistency of this one. It’s kind of like pudding. A little bit goes a long way, so don’t go overboard. 1. You’ll get those product rolls…you know what I mean? What doesn’t get absorbed will end up balling up. 2. You’ll waste product. Don’t do that!

Now, I should mention: I know I don’t have too much to firm up, and I’m lucky that I’ve yet to see any wrinkles forming on my face. But I have been gradually getting more pronounced neck bands, which StriVectin refers to  as “tech neck,” due to constantly looking down at our phones and computers. It’s a funny/sad and oh-so-appropriate name for it. I’ve always used the same moisturizer on my neck as my face, because you don’t necessarily need a neck-exclusive cream, and can supplement with serum or oil for added benefits. But if you’re like me and use a lightweight moisturizer on your face, you might want something a little more substantial for your neck. And if you’re really like me, you might not realize that until you try it. Whatever you do, don’t neglect your neck, because it’s extra prone to aging. Which leaves me with this question: have you tried StriVectin TL Advanced™ Light Tightening Neck Cream? If so, what are your thoughts?
