I don’t think it will come as a surprise to anyone when I say that I really enjoy dressing up for Disney World. I love a theme, and one of my favorite themes is Disney, because I’m 32 going on 5 (and simultaneously 80)! Though I sometimes switch to pinks for Disneyland, I usually go for pops of red — after all, Minnie Mouse and Snow White are my favorites — with a statement accessory like Minnie ears or an oversized bow. For our last trip, I wore a few pieces from the Lazy Oaf x Disney collection with some of my favorite standbys from my closet. I photographed each of my looks in our Brooklyn Brigade studio to give you some Disney World outfit ideas. Or, you know, something to wear to your next elegant cocktail party. Whichever! It will go over really well, either way.

But seriously, if you don’t dress up when you’re going to Disney, you’re missing out on half the fun. In my family, we all (including Bobby, who has ears with his name embroidered on them) dress up for our trips. But I’d have to say that my nieces and I go all out. Picture Minnie with a mini Minnie and Cinderella — and they’re much cuter than I am, so we’re quite the spectacle when traveling in a group. Add in some delicious treats, rides, parades, and my five year old nephew dressed as Mickey with all of the Disney cast members saying, “Hey, boss!” and him replying, “I’m not the real Mickey Mouse!” and it’s downright impossible to have a bad day.

p.s. If you’re wondering how I get by in a dress, the answer is: I always wear stretchy shorts underneath! For the denim shirt dress, which is more of a tunic length, I wore a pair of loose lace shorts that were cute enough to be visible. And about the shoes…I think I ended up wearing the converse with all three outfits, although I usually wear those mouse flats on every trip. You’ll be doing a lot of walking, so make sure the shoes you’re wearing are very comfortable!
