It’s finally starting to get warm in New York City, so here is part one of my NYC treats tour. I get a lot of readers asking me where to eat in New York, so I put together this list for both locals and tourists visiting the city. There are so many great places for desserts and sweets in New York, I’m only covering 7 spots in this post but I’ll definitely be doing a part two in the future. Keep reading for my list of best desserts NYC, where to go and what to order at each spot:

I’m going to say something really controversial: Levain is not my favorite. But to be fair, I don’t like nuts in my chocolate chip cookie! I’m more of a City Bakery girl.

  1. Wow! I’ve never heard of any of these before but they all look so good! This post is making me want to plan a trip back to NYC, especially the pig pastry because it’s adorable. My favorite dessert has been the frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity III so far.

Frozen hot chocolate is a good one! The pig pastry is different each time – sometimes it’s a hula girl, sometimes it’s a cute lil animal. Always amazing options at Dominique Ansel!

  2. I love this list! NYC is out place to go for a mini getaway and we’re always looking for cool places to check out (non touristy). Hope you come up with more posts like this! 🙂

    Oh we love Dough Donuts!

  3. Love that frozen s’more at Dominique Ansel! SO GOOD!

I also have to second Dough doughnuts, they’re the best I’ve ever had. A close second is Top Pot in Seattle. They sell Dough doughnuts at Catskill Bakery on Cortelyou, mere blocks from my house. It is so hard to resist.

Also have to give props to the Macarons at Bouchon, such a wonderful treat.

  4. Can I say something controversial?
I used to loved Ansel, but then the last time I was in NY, we went there like always. And we got a tonne of stuff. Idk which one exactly it was amongst them-one of the tarts or the DKA-but we all got so sick. I’ve been afraid to go back ever since!

Noooo that’s awful! I am going to say it was a tart, because DKAs are my favorite and I refuse to believe they would be tainted;) I’m sorry about your experience!
