I don’t think I’ve ever had a pair of jeans that I’ve worn more than these Madewell 10 inch rise jeans — the very same ones that I featured in this post as my absolute favorites. They’re my version of perfect jeans: stretchy but substantial fabric, a higher rise (but not too high of a rise), dark wash. They’re so comfortable and versatile; I must wear them at least 3 times a week.  I think I might buy them in another wash. I’ve learned that if I really, really love a piece of clothing or pair of shoes, I should probably buy a backup or something very similar. Case in point: these Free People “Mercury” mary janes. I ended up buying a very similar pair in red that I absolutely love, and they were (and still are) on sale. Want to see how much I’ve worn these? Here’s just a sampling. See the shoes styled differently in these posts:

On a totally different topic, Miku would be horrified if she knew I was sharing these photos that were taken before her appointment at the groomer, but I won’t tell her if you won’t. She is back in Princess mode with a stunning new hair cut, but she was overdue when these photos were taken. Ever since she had to get her back shaved at the vet (from a spider bite! Yikes!), her hair just won’t grow back. She has hypothyroidism and even with her medication, which was just upped after her last checkup, her hair texture is completely different — brittle and weird — and growth is really patchy. Any tricks out there for helping? With her pancreatitis scare, I’m hesitant to introduce any fatty supplements, but I’d love to know if anyone has experience and any suggestions. At the moment, we’re just keeping her trimmed with a lion cut and she looks pretty cute. But Winter Is Coming (I finished Game of Thrones! Can you tell?) and she’s going to have to wear a lot of coats to make up for her lack of hair.

  1. I bought these jeans (except in the lighter wash with the button front) and I LOVE them. The 10″ rise is SO good. You’ve just convinced me that I need the darker wash.

  2. These have been on my list since you recommended them over the summer! I haven’t really updated my denim collection since the high school/early college American Eagle days! 😂

Also, I don’t know if this would be considered “fatty” or not, but have you looked into collagen supplements for Miku? They should not only help her fur to grow, but also help her joints and tissues. Just a thought!
