The Glowy Skin “Filter” I’m Obsessed With

Get that glow with Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless FilterĀ Ā (I’m wearing #2)

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with dewy skin. Can you tell? Well, I suppose I’veĀ always had a thing for dewy skin, but I’ve been putting a little more focus on amping up the glow with a little help from this magical little product from Charlotte Tilbury:Ā Hollywood Flawless Filter.Ā It can be worn alone as a highlighter or all over, for a soft, diffused glow (think the beauty filter on Instagram stories or Snapchat), underneath foundation or mixed in. I prefer it as a highlighter (as opposed to all over) or mixed in with a little tinted moisturizer for an added luminous effect. What I like about it is that it’s subtle enough to wear all over, without looking like you bathed in shimmering light. While many prefer blinding highlights — I get it, it looks like unicorn magic — I like that glow-from-within approach. Not glittery, not even very shimmery (though there’s some of that, too). Just glowing.

It kind of reminds me of the liquid BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfectors,Ā only it comes in flesh tones and is a little more sheer, so it looks a lot more natural on me. I’d have to swatch them side by side to see the difference in consistency, but from my memory, I think this is a little lighter.

The only thing that gave me pause is its limited shade options. Since they are sheer and blendable, each color will work for a wider variety of skin tones. However, I found it strange that Nordstrom.com only has 6 out of 7 of the shades — the darkest shade is available on Charlotte Tilbury. I hope that will be remedied soon because that’s quite an important shade to be missing and Nordstrom is such a convenient spot to buy from. Has anyone seen it in stores?

I’m wearing a lot of Charlotte Tilbury here, save for a few products; you can shop the whole look below. But another star of this look is the liquid lipstick. I have to admit, I wasn’t super crazy about the red lipstick I got because the staying power wasn’t amazing (although I picked up a rosy shade I’ve been wearing a lot). But then again, I’m so used to super matte or liquid lipsticks that stay all day. But the liquid lipstick? I’m obsessed. It’s a lot less dry than most formulas; it makes me think of melting an actual lipstick down and using it with a doe foot applicator. Does that make sense? It’s creamier, not drying, and the colors are gorgeous. Here, I’m wearing “Too Bad I’m Bad.” I’ve been wearing it quite a bit. It might be a new staple.
