Lock and Key

Here’s a rundown of my day: blah outfit, more bad news from Tekserve, yelling at strangers on the street (they were making gross comments and I was already in a mood), the garment district, a picnic-style lunch with Catherine and Bobby and pretending that Tekserve didn’t give me such bad news. I was supposed to go there today, but I’m just not in the mood to deal with it. They sent an email that basically said, “We were able to retrieve everything, except for all of your photos. And this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this.” So, I have no idea what they were able to retrieve – maybe my music? Which, of course, is already backed up anyway. But my programs, my site, my photos (biggest bummer)…gone. The kicker is that they told us they were 99% sure they could get everything off for me, and that it would take 3-4 days. Two weeks later, I have come to find out that they were overly confident. Apparently, for an additional $600, I have a 7 in 10 chance to recover more data…but considering there 9 to 1 odds weren’t in my favor, I think I’m going to cut my losses and move forward.

I didn’t even like my outfit today; I was in a rush. Excuses, excuses.

Buuuut! I received this lovely little necklace in the mail, from Anirtak, and I love it. It’s so cute and dainty. The best part is, it’s only $10 at her Etsy shop.

The rest of my night will be filled with work. Is it weird that I’m looking forward to it? Work is the least stressful thing in my life; I love it.

  1. Sorry about your bad news. I know what you mean about work being the least stressful thing. I always say work is my “Cabaret”…”leave your troubles outside, in here life is beautiful…” 🙂

  2. Hoping everything gets better for you soon! And I hope those “tech” people fix your Mac soon – problem with IT business is that they can take their sweet time fixing things and charge you an arm and a leg for it.

    Massive hugs from Australia!

  3. OMG, that necklace is amazing! I love it. Too bad it’s all sold out. Just my luck 🙁

That’s a bummer about your pictures 🙁 I would be absolutely crushed if I lost all my photos. I should really back them up. Photographs are lifelines to the past… at least, I think so.

  4. I definitely had to order that necklace when I saw it. I was just wondering if it was a nice, weighted necklace. Sometimes I order necklaces online and they are a little too light.

  5. You don’t like the outfit, but I do. The best thing I love about you is you are never afraid to match colours and experiment. And you always look so good!
