Horse Kisses

I love my horses (and my colorful little sister). Little Shawny and I have been best friends for over 20 years. Can you believe that?

Love love,
Keiko Lynn

p.s. A little info about the horses: Shawn is a Morgan Welsh (36 years old), Cocoa is a Thoroughbred mare, and Diablo is a Paso Fino.

  1. I love these photos. Lately I've been really missing riding.
I meant to email you back when your horse died. When I was in 8th grade my horse got gangrene the nearly killed him. It was awful seeing such a big, strong horse with a huge personality become so quiet and in pain. He used to nip and me and all he could do is stand there and rest his head on me. I remember doing cold compresses on him for hours trying to heal him. At the same time my brother was also in the pediatric intensive care unit after being stomped by a moose and found clinically dead by my father who spend ten minutes giving him cpr. During that time I just remember driving from the human hospital to the horse hospital. Your hard times recently made me really remember that time and I am so thankful to God that he returned both Taco and Ben to live full lives.
I hope that things are going better for you, darlin'. You look absolutely GORGEOUS, and so do your equine pals! I need to go up to my barn and get some photos of my old mare's daughter, Juneau. She was the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life!
Okay, I probably should've just emailed you. This comment is forever-long!
Much love, Keiko. I hope I get to see you again, perhaps next fashion week?

  2. I miss my horses so much more now haha. My mother raises Arabians. Last year we put down my horse, she was a year younger than me, we grew up together. Such amazing animals.

  3. Oh goodness. barebacking. . .I am envious. It makes me want to go to my uncle's horse farm right now. Too bad he lives six hours away. :: sigh :: these horses are gorgeous. what a great friendship it is to have a horse and a girl together. There is something special about that. My favourite horse died two years ago. I miss him. His name was Pride.

  4. great photos! you look adorable! (:
it reminds me of the one and only time I rode a horse- unfortunately it wasn't such a great experience- I was about 10 years old, and for some reason I couldn't hold on to the horse and fell…Ive been a bit scared of them since.

  5. horses always intimidate me for some reason, i always feel like they're going to trample over me! haha. i love the photo of you in the water on the horse.

  6. Yay, horses! I miss riding, especially now that the weather is getting nicer.

And ps, how do you look so wonderfully photogenic while riding? I'm always a sweaty mess… haha.

  7. Aww seeing this makes me miss riding. I took lessons for five years and owned a Morgan Quarter horse named Princess [i didn't name her ha] I had to sell her when we moved to the city πŸ™ they are awesome animals…

  8. Wow! These photos are wonderful! I especially love the photos of the horses in the water. Really amazing to see. Beautiful… you and them!

  9. Jessica,
I'm so sorry about your horse. I know how horrible it is to let them go. I've lost three of my own, and it never gets easier.

Also, I love Arabs. My first horse was an Anglo-Arab, but most of my friends had Arabs when we were younger.
