Meet me in Montauk.

Despite the tremendous winds and misty rain (or maybe because of it), Montauk was lovely. Trite as it may be, Montauk reminds me of two things: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Circa Survive. We didn’t even think to put the old Circa album on, but by coincidence, were listening to the new one. As for the movie: you might not think it just by reading my blog, but Clementine and I have a few things in common. We’re both messes; we’re destructive by defense and afraid of normalcy. I’ve been working on that. Well, the destructive part. Luckily, I have a really patient, supportive guy on my side.

Too many guys think I’m a concept, or I complete them, or I’m gonna make them alive. But I’m just a f***ed up girl who’s looking for my own peace of mind. Don’t assign me yours. – Clementine

p.p.s. Before I forget: My friends at Tweet My Bag are hosting an awesome giveaway for the rest of today and tomorrow. They’re giving away a free Zara Terez bag to one lucky winner each day this week. Obviously I’m a little late on this, but you have today and tomorrow to enter. Just upload a photo of you with *any* handbag and you’re entered in the contest. The odds are very good! Do itttt.

  1. The leather jackets and the boots- AMAZING! Especially paired with the softness of the inner layers, and in a monochromatic colour scheme. You are a clothing genius.

  2. Long time reader, first time commenting I think. I love this look and these photos are really beautiful, especially the third one. You look absolutely adorable when you smile ๐Ÿ™‚

Clementine is a beautifully broken character, but I think that's why I love her.

  3. Oh, Keiko. You're just the loveliest lady I've ever seen. (& your location is pretty darn gorgeous as well, weather or no!) It's always so fun to read your thoughts & get a peek into your life. You have such a grounded, sweet personality that you convey so well through your writing, & I appreciate that you let us get to know you a little through your blog. ๐Ÿ™‚ Keep being the darling that you are.

  4. This is a great rainy day outfit. All the layering makes it work for whatever comes your way in terms of the weather. I can only wish I had such great layering skills.

  6. Ah! Montauk was the one place this summer I really wanted to go with Alex on a nice getaway but never managed to get to. Maybe some other time. Eternal Sunshine is my all time favorite movie, so I have a very special place in my heart for Montauk.

Glad to see you and Bobby enjoying yourselves there.

Also have you thought of getting disqus? You can add it to your blogspot to handle comments, but it's threaded. Just a thought.

  7. I don't normally comment! But i love you outfit, a leather jacket makes everything look better.

  8. Hey, this is my first comment on your blog (been following for a couple weeks now). I had to comment because this shoot is absolutely gorgeous! Love the setting and your outfit. A few years ago I came across your livejournal (think it was) when I wanted to sell clothing and was looking for inspiration. Recently after Coach hosted a contest on polyvore.com, I saw you being featured on their site and was actually kind of excited, haha. You had obviously come far. Even though you're a stranger, it was very cool to see that. I'm really enjoying this blog, the outfits, your stories and insights =)

  9. I love this post so much, I just had to comment although I usually don't. The only word(s) that come to mind is: jaw-dropping – everything, and I mean everything in this post is so beautiful. Thank you for being one of a kind.

I love this whole outfit. So lovely. I've been following you for years now, and it's amazing to see how your style has progressed and changed.
