My cats destroyedĀ the arms of myĀ last sofa, so it was time for a new one. Our living room is far from finished, but I wanted to share a few of our new pieces, while we hunt for the rest!Ā I know that a green tufted velvet sofa seems like an odd choice, considering my opening statement, but believe it or not…I kind of thought this one out. My cats love tearing up leather and loose weaves (our last one was a very loose weave), but they have no interest in velvet. It’s only been a couple of weeks, but no claws have come out (knock on wood).Ā Though my heart was set on the pink version, BobbyĀ was really into the emerald. And let’s be honest…I’ve taken over most of the decor decisions in this household, so I let him have this one. The darker hue is better at hiding any inevitable stains, but with our living room already being oppressively dark — it’s in the middle of the apartment, with no direct windows — it needed something to brighten it up. I picked out thisĀ Pink “Pari” RugĀ fromĀ Lulu and Georgia, my go-to place for rugs (we have this oneĀ inĀ our studio and this one in my guest room), stole one of my vintage chairs from our studio,Ā and added some fun pillows. Half of themĀ are meant for children’s rooms, which did not deter me.Ā We still need a coffee table, credenza, side tables, some more lighting, and a few odds and ends…but it’s starting to feel a lot more cheery in this dark and dreary room. I’ll keep you updated!
