How To Tie A Head Scarf 3 Different Ways

how to tie a head scarf 3 ways video tutorial

My how to tie a head scarf tutorial is one of my most popular posts of all time, so I decided to update it with a video — and two other ways to tie a head scarf! I featured three different scarves in different sizes — a regular square scarf, a large square scarf, and a long rectangular scarf — to demonstrate my favorite ways to tie a head scarf. They’re all super easy to recreate, so check out my video and try it for yourself. If you try it out, please send me a picture or tag me in your photo on instagram. I love seeing your photos!

Some of you have asked for tips on how to keep your scarf in place. I have found that washed silk tends to have the best grip, but using hair spray, texture spray, or dry shampoo on your hair before wearing your head scarf also helps give it a little extra grip. You can also secure with bobby pins, if you desire, but I prefer them without. Watch the video below to learn how to tie a head scarf:

p.s. Two great places to get a scarf: search Etsy for vintage silk scarves, and Amazon for inexpensive finds with free prime shipping. Check out more of my favorites, below:

Ahhh thank you for bringing back the scarfs! I remember when I first stumbled upon one of your posts featuring the “classic look” scarf. I searched for AGES for a look alike, but no such luck! Hahah love the looks!

Thank you! I wear a head scarf at least once a week – they’re the best for hiding bad hair days! I even used the original scarf, though it’s starting to fall apart. I definitely recommend vintage scarves because they’re already worn in perfectly.
