My vintage bedroom home decor details and how to find everything

Whenever I’ve posted a photo or video of our room, I’ve gotten flooded with questions about the home decor in the background. While much of it is vintage, it’s actually not that difficult to find the same or very similar pieces online or in local shops, so in this post I’m linking to the exact same or similar home decor and letting you know how to search for it on your own.

My vintage bedroom home decor details and how to find everything

My vintage bedroom home decor

Gold Syroco Shelves:

Search “vintage syroco shelf” on Etsy or Ebay and you’ll find a bunch of these lightweight, ornate shelves. That’s exactly why I love them: they’re a statement piece but weigh next to nothing, so ordering online is doable (because shipping shouldn’t be too bad). I also find these in thrift stores and on Facebook Marketplace — both are great sources for vintage home decor. Search terms: vintage syroco shelf

Syroco Floral Wall Hangings:

I bought my large vintage syroco dogwood branch floral wall hanging at a local store in Brooklyn, years ago. It was in Williamsburg and I cannot remember which store it was, or else I’d link to them! I bought a second one that unfortunately broke during shipment (they’re pretty fragile), and instead of letting it go to waste I added one part of it to my HomeGoods laundry hamper and displayed another part on a shelf. If you buy online, make sure to ask what precautions the seller will take during shipment! Search terms: vintage syroco wall hanging, vintage syroco dogwood

Vintage floral painting:Ā

I love the depth this painting adds to this sweet little vignette. I believe I got it at a thrift storeĀ ages ago, but every time I look at it, I think of the one that got away. In another room, I had aĀ giant oval version of a similar painting in an ornate gold frame, and right before we moved into this apartment…BOBBY PUT IT OUT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT TELLING ME. When I found out, I was both furious and heartbroken. And yes, I almost broke up with him. I’m considering breaking up with him now, over three years later, at the mere thought of it. What was he thinking?! Anyway, I sincerely hope that she found a loving new home and is being appreciated the way she should be.Ā

I went on a tangent there, but there are some pretty options below or you can keep your eyes open locally.Ā Search terms: vintage floral painting gold frame, vintage roses painting gold frame

Glamour Girl Head Vases:

Head vases are easy to come by — some more than others — and they make such a pretty addition to any room. I love displaying dried florals in them, but I’ve also seen them used on vanities to store makeup brushes. Mine were all gifts or lucky estate sale and antique shop finds. That large one is my absolute favorite, and was a gift from my mom. Search terms: vintage head vase, vintage glamour girl head vase, napco head vase, lady head vase

Hand Vases:

I’ve always had a thing for vintage hands (wow, that sounds weird). I have an antique ring and necklace with dainty hands and pearls, hand vases, an old glove mold, and even a tattoo of a hand holding flowers that was modeled after an antique postcard. Needless to say, I have a hard time passing up these pretty hand vases when I see them. The large one was a gift from my mom, and I have never seen another one like it. What a lucky find! But the others are easier to come by. Search terms: vintage hand vase, vintage porcelain hand vase

My vintage bedroom home decor | Floral, Removable Peel & Stick Wallpaper

Our Floral, Removable Peel & Stick Wallpaper:

I mistakenly thought we were perfectly capable of hanging our own wallpaper, after I watched a YouTube video that made it look like a breeze. Um, never again. I’ll let a professional handle that. BUT, I absolutely loved this wallpaper and the depth it added to our room. The seller was wonderful and removal — unlike application — was a total breeze.

Blush Velvet Curtains

Blush Velvet Curtains:

I love these curtains so much, I bought the same exact ones in a smaller size for our new place. They’re not cheap, but they’re gorgeous and I’ve had them for years and still love them. I also have some that are a bit more pink from IKEA which are much less expensive but a little too pink for what I wanted, so I use them for a photo backdrop!

The paint color: Valspar Soft Pink

Vintage Suitcase and Hat Box:

The next time you’re at a thrift store, make sure you check the suitcase section! Sometimes you can find some real treasures. But the vintage hatboxes are usually a little easier to come by in actual antique malls, online, or estate sales. I use both of them to store things in a pretty way, and it creates levels that make the setup a little more visual appealing. That suitcase is full of antique sheet music, post cards, and Bobby’s dad’s old trumpet. The hat box holds all of my berets and a few fascinators!

Bijou Candles

The candles that always make their way into the background of every photo:

Most of my candles come from HomeGoods (which is where I find the beloved Volcano candles for a fraction of retail!), Bijou Candles, and Diptyque. Bijou seems to have discontinued my FAVORITE candle (Claudette), which I ordered in large quantities and now am down to two. If anyone knows a candle that smells similarly (it says lily and tuberose), please let me know!

vintage finds, sentimental items, and my Bonlook glasses.

Miscellaneous:

This little corner is full of vintage finds, sentimental items, and my Bonlook glasses. I found the exact embroidered cat picture here, if you want it. It has always made me smile! The cat and dog glasses holders are easy to come by (search terms: vintageĀ ceramic eyeglass holder dog, vintage eyeglass holder cat, vintage eyeglass stand, vintage glasses stand). My mom made the bottom right one when she was a kid! The vintage flower hooks hold dried flowers, crowns, fascinators, and a vintage bag. See some options below.

I didn’t link to my ghosty girls, merely because they’re one of a kind portraits — but you canĀ easily find old portraits at flea markets, thrift stores, antique shops, and estate sales. If you have any questions about decor details I’ve left out, please let me know below and I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction!Ā
