Buenos Aires Airbnb: Recoleta Neighborhood
I would recommend our Buenos Aires Airbnb to anyone looking to stay in the beautiful Recoleta neighborhood. You can find the listing here. We booked our trip to Argentina a little too close to our departure, which left fewer options and deals for our top hotel choices. We originally intended to stay in Palermo, on the advice of others. Once I saw how much higher the prices were than usual, due to our travel window, I started looking elsewhere. We settled on the quieter but very chic neighborhood of Recoleta. I found some inexpensive hotel options that were just fine, but decided to check out the Airbnb options as well. I don’t always choose Airbnbs for international travel — I’ll get more into that later — but in this case, it felt like our best option. And it was!
Quick note: If you have a Delta Skymiles membership, book your airbnb through the Delta x airbnb hub. I’m kicking myself for not doing that to get extra miles!
Why We Loved Our Buenos Aires Airbnb
More Space
We were traveling in a group of 3, and the idea of some extra space and privacy for the first leg of our trip seemed like an all around great idea. It was a charming and cozy space with two rooms, 3 beds, a tiny kitchen, and a living and dining area for us to spread out in. Check out the Buenos Aires Airbnb listing to see more photos.
Excellent Neighborhood of Recoleta
We loved the neighborhood of Recoleta. It ended up being the perfect place to stay. It was lovely and quiet but conveniently located. Everything we wanted to see was either walkable or a quick cab ride away. While I’m always cautious and alert anywhere I go, especially when traveling, I felt very safe in Recoleta.
Great Restaurants and Cafes
We also had one of the most enjoyable meals of our trip at a vegetarian place in the neighborhood called MARTi. Roux was also delicious and had impeccable service! There are also lots of little cafes and markets nearby.
Trustworthy Host
Our host was a verified superhost with stellar reviews. He was more than accommodating, allowing us to check in early since the previous guests checked out early. Communication was quick, easy, and friendly. By the time we got our bags, grabbed some coffee, and got in a taxi, the apartment was clean and ready for our arrival. We were super grateful for that!
Cost Efficiency
The price was affordable, and the cleaning fee was more than fair at just $30 for the stay. Frequent airbnb travelers know that the cleaning fees can be outlandish at times, making the base price skyrocket once it’s factored in! Our dates were available, so I booked it right away. I’m so glad I did!
One we arrived, our host met us there to show us around the space. He gave us some recommendations for the area and tips for our stay at his Buenos Aires Airbnb. My friends were unable to sleep on the plane, so they took a nap as soon as we got there. I read my book (how cute is my Alice in Wonderland Kindle case?!) and snapped some photos of my outfit.
Outfit details: Brixton beret // thrifted vintage jacket // thrifted bodysuit // vintage romper // Sam Edelman heels. NARS Walk This Way powermatte liquid lipstick with MAC Soar lipliner blended at edges.
