I teamed up with BUXOM to create this âDay to Vixenâ tutorial, using their BUXOM Customizable Eyeshadow Bar Palette with my choice of shadows. Since Iâve been focusing a lot on neutrals, lately, I knew I wanted to include some color, but I also wanted it to be sultry. After swatching every single shadow available for mixing and matching – 40 in total – I decided to build out my palette with some pretty mauves and purples, and a matte black and shimmery silver for when I want to do more of a traditional smokey eye. The shadows easily pop in and out of the palette – you just slide the drawer out and remove/add as you please. Needless to say, I have several other singles that are waiting for their turn in the palette. Want to learn how to recreate this simple day to night / vixen look? Build your own palette with the shades of your choice and follow the steps, below!
1. Use a fluffy shadow brush to sweep âLingerie Loverâ in/above the crease. This will serve as your transitional shade, in the night look – but right now, itâs just going to create a very subtle contour. P.S. I skipped my usual first step (adding primer), because these particular shadows are primer-infused, so it’s not necessary.
2. Sweep the same shade along the lower lashline.
3. Add mascara. With a little blush and lipstick, that’s all for the day look! Continue on for the night (âVixenâ) look.
4. Pack âWild Nightsâ in the inner and outer corners, leaving a gap in the center of your eyelids.
5. Pack âPatent Leatherâ in the very inner and outer corners, leaving âWild Nightsâ visible at the inside.
6. Pat âLa La lavishâ on the empty center of your lid, using your finger.
7. Line your lower lashline.
8. Apply âPatent Leatherâ over the liner and blend outward. You can also sweep a little more of the transitional color on the outside to soften any harsh edges. I also mixed the original lip color with a lighter pink to make it a little more subtle. All done!
