Orlando/Pin Tucks and Taffeta

There are a few things that I miss about Orlando: Roland, Jeremy, Christopher and Thriftko. I would have a thrift store in there, wouldn’t I?

Since my time in Orlando was limited to a mere 27 hours, I didn’t bother with Thriftko – and Roland was working and sick, so no Roland:( I did, however, get to see Christopher and meet his fiancée (I forgot to bring my camera) and spent lots of quality time with my favorite panda boy, Jeremy. It was Bobby’s birthday, so we had a little birthday dinner on the first night, with several friends. The next night was just Jeremy, Bobby, Tessa and me.

Jeremy, if you’re reading this (you totally are, aren’t you?)…you are missed. I wish we lived in the same city, so we could be adventurers together.

And now, I leave you with a ridiculous amount of pictures of three of my favorite people in the whole world (plus me, with gross hair).

Half of my pictures of Tessa feature her hands over her face.

Monsters or tigers?

My hair looks awful, because it was raining and I didn’t have an umbrella. Naturally, everyone else looked wonderful! Thanks dudes, for always making me feel like the ugly step-sister;)

They are so cute, I can’t stand it.

I have too many beautiful people in my life. Can you see why a girl can get self-conscious? Although, I have to say, they are all just as beautiful on the inside (this is getting sappy). Quality trumps quantity, always.

Since I have a million outfits to post, I’ll go ahead and show you my outfit from Bobby’s birthday dinner. Thank you to my special guest photographer, little sister Tessa!

Outfit Details:
vintage beret – Hourglass Consignment (my mom’s shop)
sheer, vintage blouse – thrifted, years and years ago
belt – thrifted
crazy taffeta skirt – I made it from a thrifted dress that was even crazier than the end result.
tights – whatever
shoes – Jeffrey Campbell

Love love,

Keiko Lynn

  1. playful photos, i cant help but smile too.

i love that skirt. looks cute on you, anyway you can wear anything…anything and still looked great and sophisticated.

  2. I think you should make a post in which you acknowledge how beautiful you are. I think I’m decent looking and when I come away from your blog after reading your apologies for your messy hair (it looks great!) and how you think you’re not as good looking as your friends (yes, those are some gorgeous boys, but give yourself credit!) sometimes I almost want to second guess whether or not I actually AM decent looking. Sort of an ‘If someone like HER doubts her beauty…am I kidding myself??’ haha

I guess that’s a convoluted way of saying that we’re all beautiful in our own way, and sometimes I feel like you don’t acknowledge that of yourself enough. This could be an assumption based on just blog posts, which admittedly aren’t the whole of who you are, but a tiny fraction so I could be wayyyy off base and apologize if I am. We all have our hangups about our faces or bodies and have our days or moments of insecurity or self-consciousness, but as cliche as it sounds, that’s what makes us exotic and interesting and contributes to our beauty rather than detracts from it. Not to mention, you’re surrounded by people who love you and think you’re beautiful, too. I’m sure Bobby wasn’t like “Man, Keiko’s hair got rained on, yuck” — he probably thought you were as beautiful as ever. 🙂 We’re often our own worst critics, so it helps to sometimes see ourselves through the eyes of those who love us and think we’re beautiful all the time.

    And that skirt? Is amazing!

  3. Wow, I am completely with Summer on this one. Gorgeous people definitely have gorgeous friends! *jealous jealous jealous*

I am absolutely smitten over that taffeta skirt. It goes so well with the blouse and shoes.

After reading your posts, I am insipired to go thrifting again. I haven’t been thrifing in over a year. Can you believe that? I have to find some decent places to go ‘treasure hunting’ in Canada…

  4. Yes, I am totally reading this =)

Glad to hear I’m missed. I love looking back on photos of You, Bobby and I because I’m always smiling. We’ll dwell in the same city soon enough, I promise.

Speaking of ugly step-siblings, I believe you have it confused. It’s OBVIOUS that you and Bobbert are the attractive of the three. I’m going to shave, cut my hair and lose 10 lbs now =)

    Miss you, XOXO.
