Jewelry Box
Though I don’t wear very many accessories, I actually have quite a collection. Most of it is vintage costume jewelry from my mom; I’ve never been big on real jewelry, since I have a tendency to lose or ruin it. My little jewelry box only hold about a tenth of what I own. The rest is stored in random jewelry boxes, necklace stands and on my dress form. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite pieces with you.
A floral locket from Kellyssima (she has two more available at her site). One of my newest additions, but already dear to my heart. The photos are of Rowdy, my horse who recently passed – and my little pup Miku. I get teary eyed every time I look at it; Rowdy was my family for over twenty years.
I certainly need to acquire more lockets, because I have a few critters who probably feel jilted. My baby pony Shawn needs a spot of his own.
This vintage ring and matching necklace were purchased in two separate states! My mom was on a mission to find a matching ring for the necklace and succeeded. She and my stepdad gave these to me for my birthday and Christmas, respectively. I adore the fragile hands.
Vintage fishies and frames – more gifts from my mom. The glasses are a little too small but I still love them.
A beauty from Corvus Noir.
This isn’t jewelry (though I also love the bakelite bracelet above it), but it has sentimental value. It’s my mom’s old nametag from her job as a waitress, at a Boca hotel. As a single mom with three kids and no child support, she worked several jobs to make ends meet. It’s a reminder of where I came from, and how to get where I’m going. Love love,
