The weather was dreadful yesterday. I’m usually a fan of rainy days, but I think it’s because I grew up in Florida thinking that a rainy day was either a sunny day with welcome, sporadic showers or a straight up hurricane. Hurricanes are awful – I’ve lived through some doozies – but when I was little, I enjoyed the days off of school, the camp-life living, hurricane parties and playing in the fallen trees. New York rainy days are just cold, dark and very wet.
Since we couldn’t take Miku for her playtime at the dog park, we headed to Red Hook to eat lobster rolls and chowder. Bobby had a shrimp roll, because he doesn’t know what life is, but he’ll figure it out sooner or later. If you haven’t had a lobster roll from the pound, let it be known that they are really good and reasonably priced. Perhaps it’s because I’m accustomed to the Brooklyn Fish Camp $35 price tag for a tiny roll, but at $15 with chips and a pickle, Red Hook’s prices are alright by me.
After our delicious meal, we headed back to the apartment so that I could hide my wretchedly frizzy hair under a hat, then headed to a Gucci cocktail party and preview at Cipriani. As glamorous as that sounds, I fell while walking down their stairs. Hands and knees, bam. Karen was a witness. The end.
