5 Dreamy Winter Getaways from NYC on Airbnb
Maybe it’s the Gilmore Girls binge-fest and my inner Lorelai who needs snow with her Winter, but these dry, grey, dreary NYC days are really bringing on the SAD. I’d like to escape the city and relax in one of these dreamy Winter getaways from NYC on Airbnb.
Cozy Catskills Winter House (Catskills, NY) – If you’re looking for a quick getaway from New York City, this house on 3 acres in the Catskills would be a nice reprieve from the busy city. You could go snowboarding, tubing, skiing, or simply sit around the fire and contemplate what life would be like if you didn’t have the constant noise of sirens and honking horns right outside your window (as I do, right now).
The Shack in Narrowsburg (Narrowsburg, NY) – Tiny house, big space! The open layout keeps things bright and airy, and the 7 private acres doesn’t hurt. The house itself can fit 3 with the addition of its sleeping loft, but you can fit up to 5 people if you request The Shed, their second, teeny tiny space on the same property – which is only booked in conjunction with the main house, ensuring privacy. Also pet friendly, and probably the next spot on my list.
The Barn in Tivoli (Tivoli, NY) – Get cozy in this country barn house, it has a wood burning stove to keep you warm during the colder months! I can just imagine sitting around drinking hot chocolate, wrapped up in a blanket at this charming rustic house.
Modern Barn Getaway Near Woodstock (Woodstock, NY) – This is a bit more modern barn house, with 40″ vaulted ceilings and accommodations for up to 10 people. They’re also dog friendly, which is a must when I’m traveling – especially Winter getaways from NYC on airbnb, where the options are plentiful. Miku is half American Eskimo, after all!
Modern Pastoral 1860s Farmhouse (Freehold, NY) – This pet-friendly 1860s farmhouse is like something out of a magazine with its pond and fields bordered by ancient stone walls, and interiors dressed in cozy linens, worn wood and distressed wallpaper. I don’t think I’d ever want to leave.
