A New Docu-Series You Should Watch

The New Docu-Series You Should Watch wild wild country
If you’re a true crime fan like me, you should check out the new Netflix documentary series Wild Wild Country. The six-part series documents the rise and fall of the 1980s Rajneesh movement, the creation of their controversial Oregon commune, along with a ton of scandals including bioterrorism and attempted murders. As a true crime lover, I already knew the basic information about this cult; but what makes this series so compelling is the modern day interviews with key members of this cult plus the extensive archival footage. At times the story seems so unbelievable, an Indian guru who creates his own city in rural Oregon and simultaneously has the largest collection of Rolls Royces in the world! This strange story has so many twists and turns, even if you’re familiar with this story you will be shocked by the details they uncover! (Also this cult weirdly intersects with the Hollywood elite and the founder of Nike.) I highly recommend giving this a watch, and if you have any of your own documentary recommendations leave them in the comments below.

If you’ve already watched this documentary and you’re looking for more cult-related stories, there is a podcast called Zealot that covers all things cults.

Do you have any documentaries you’d recommend?

Oooooh great recommendation! I have not heard of this yet but it seems really interesting.

Have you also watched Waco? It’s about David Koresh and his followers (Branch Davidians). I think you would enjoy it.

I would also recommend the American Crime Story series. They did one on OJ back in 2016 and recently released one on the killer who assassinated Versace.

This sounds so good! I just finished watching the short series Alias Grace based on the book by Margaret Atwood which is based on the true story of Grace Marks who either did or did not murder her employer back in the 1800s.

It was so good!!! I started watching it without knowing anything about it. I had done a school project on cults so I was surprised that I never came across this one because it was just so insane!!!
