As I get older and my closet gets smaller — I went from a small room to a regular, non walk in closet — I’ve been paring down the contents within. That’s not to say I’m getting rid of all of my special but not-so-practical vintage dresses (heaven forbid), but I’ve been a lot better about keeping a one in, one out policy and only buying things I love and want to wear over and over. I already talked about wanting to buy this Mara Hoffman dress in a second color (my other one is blue gingham and I wore it on the blog here). I wear the gingham version almost every single week, so the cost per wear just gets lower and lower. And though it’s such a summery print, I can already see myself wearing it well into Fall. I went back and forth on getting a second color but when it went on sale, I didn’t even hesitate.

As for this vintage straw bag, I bought it on Etsy! I love vintage bags, and though there are currently so many amazing modern straw bags, my vintage collection is enough to keep me happy. Whether it’s a thrift store, fast fashion, or pricier contemporary piece, I just want to keep my closet full of pieces I’ll want to wear often. Clothing is meant to be worn more than once or twice, you know what I mean?
