My Top 5 All Time Favorite Brands and Styles of Jeans
As much as I love a good statement dress, I love a jeans and t-shirt day and take my denim very seriously. I’ve found that I gravitate toward four different brands of jeans: AGOLDE, Levi’s, Madewell, and more recently, DL1961. Below, I’m rounding up my all-time favorite pairs of jeans that are 100% worth every penny, from skinny jeans and straight leg to wide leg and bell bottoms.
My Top 5 All Time Favorite Brands and Styles of Jeans
AGOLDE “Riley” High Rise Jeans
AGOLDE‘s Riley high rise jeans are my ideal straight and slim but not too skinny jeans. They have a perfect rise and fit, come in several different washes, and are worth every penny. I took my normal size in these (28).
AGOLDE “Ren” Wide Leg Jeans
I had a bit of a hard time finding the right wide leg jeans for me, and these style (“Ren”) were the winners. Not too big, not too long or short, and fitted nicely through the hips. I took my regular size in these. It seems like AGOLDE may have discontinued this style, though I was able to find an off white pair online and some on Ebay as well as Poshmark, depop, Mercari, etc. I hope they bring these back, but maybe I’ll try the 90s Pinch Waist, next! However, I found a less expensive, similar-ish silhouette that I love quite a bit that make a suitable replacement…
Levi’s Ribcage Straight Jeans
The Levi’s Ribcage straight leg jeans are a nice compromise between wide leg and skinny. They have the perfect high rise. The ones up top are available on Amazon for $69 (they’re the waterless style, according to my tag) and I go the darker wash at Shopbop. They come in tons of washes, and if you like the rise but want a different fit, they have those, too! Even shorts, which are currently on sale.
I don’t know what it is about Levi’s but sometimes my sizing is all over the place. I sized up one size in both of these — I’m normally a 28 and I got a 29 — but I actually find that the water<less style (top picture) runs more true to size since they have a bit more stretch. For that reason, I like to wear them straight out of the dryer, when they’re more fitted!
Other shoppable items pictured above: round Miu Miu sunnies (top photo), Jeffrey Campbell floral platforms (top photo), La Dame red Judy blouse (bottom right photo).
Madewell High Rise Skinny Jeans
Madewell’s 10″ High Rise skinny jeans are on my favorite brands and styles of jeans list – my holy grail of skinny jeans. I have them in several washes and they have lasted me FOREVER. I don’t care what Gen Z says, I still thing there is a place for skinny jeans. Also, I love how comfortable these are, and how they come in so many colors and crops and with different buttons or zipper options. I usually take my normal size or size down because they’re quite stretchy. I see they now have some 11″ rises and I’m thinking of trying those, next!
DL1961 Rachel High Rise Flare Jeans
Finally, we have the newest pair that joined the ranks of favorite denim: my DL1961 High Rise “Rachel” Flare jeans. I had a pair of DL1961 jeans a long time ago but they fell off my radar until I found these. Flares / bell bottoms are tricky to buy online, since they have to fit just right at the knee for me, so I made sure to order them from a site with a great return policy (Shopbop). Luckily for me, these fit like a glove — they’re true to size — and I’ve been wearing the heck out of them!
