Easy Halloween Witches’ Brew Punch for Kids (and Grown ups!)

Halloween Witches' Brew Punch on a glass

When I was a kid, I would always look forward to holiday parties for the treats. And the punch they put out for the kids. Usually just a simple concoction of lemon lime soda (7up or Sprite) or ginger ale. Also, any flavor of sherbet — sometimes with some fruit punch or pineapple juice added. This Halloween, I decided to put a Halloween spin on it. I add some green food coloring and creepy crawlies for a spooky effect. I wasn’t sure if I would still like it as an adult, but turns out, the nostalgia held up and I very much enjoyed this Halloween treat!

If you want to get a really creepy effect, add some dry ice chips to make it look like a true bubbling cauldron. We went to several stores and everyone was out, so we just turned on our fog machine next to the table as a haunting consolation.

To make the witches’ brew, simply scoop lime flavored sherbet (or any, really — but we went for green to keep the color consistent!) into a punch bowl. Add some green food coloring to lemon lime soda, pour it over the sherbet and watch it bubble up. Finish with some freshly washed plastic eyeballs and spiders, gummy worms, or any other creepy crawlies you’d like to add. Serve with a paper straw. For little kids, make sure to remove any inedible parts before serving.
