Secret Witch Hat Tutorial

I had no idea my secret witch hat would go viral in the way it did, but it sure does make me happy that so many people want to make their own! It’s so easy to do, and you can turn virtually any soft bucket or wide brimmed hat pattern into a reversible, secret witch hat. Here’s how to do it:

This all started because my niece and nephew wanted to make hats. I purchased this reversible bucket hat pattern download and made a couple of regular hats in different patterns. But then I thought, what if I replace the inner lining with a cone shape, to make it a surprise witch hat? So that’s exactly what I did. How To Make a Secret Witch Hat

Here’s where you can buy the reversible bucket hat pattern that I modified, and this is the fabric I used. I recommend the cotton twill or denim. Note: this is not a physical pattern — you have to download and print it. You can also use any bucket hat pattern, and just replace the inner lining with a cone shape for the witch hat.
