Wedding Dress Shopping with Hayley Paige
It’s not often that you get to pick out your wedding dress in the designer’s office, but by some sort of magical serendipity, my best friend Kim and I found our way into the dreamy bridal world of Hayley Paige. And by magical serendipity, I mean that my dear friend Angie made the introduction after finding out that she was Kim’s favorite wedding dress designer. Friends are the absolute best, aren’t they?
When Kim met me in NYC for our trip to Greece, we first stopped by Hayley Paige’s office to meet with her and try on some of her stunning creations in the very space where she designs them. Kim already knew all of the dresses by name — it’s like brides-to-be have their own secret society, I swear — so Hayley pulled out all of her favorites and we played a grown-up kind of dress up. It felt like Say Yes to the Dress, only in a much more intimate setting — and instead of a bunch of nos before that final yes, we had a whole lot of yes.
We were all in love with the iridescence of this bodice and skirt — the sequins have a pink, purple, and even mint shift that matched perfectly with Kim’s hair. A lot of people expected Kim to have a crazy wedding dress, but I knew she would want something more traditional. But traditional doesn’t mean it can’t be fun! Hayley made a great suggestion of going with a colorful veil (ombré pink, maybe?!) to give the look a bright twist, if she felt like she needed something a little different — or a sequin bomber for the reception.
The backs of the dresses are just as stunning as the front.
Hayley Paige and bride-to-be Kim. Isn’t Hayley absolutely darling?
I’m so excited to show you the dress Kim picked out (it’s a dream), but of course I have to keep it a secret until she walks down the aisle. In the meantime, do you have a favorite? There are so many more to check out on her site and on and I’d love to know which one you’d choose if you were looking for a wedding dress. Let me know in the comments. I’m partial to this one! I may not be getting married, but I had such a great time living vicariously through Kim. Thank you, Hayley, for making this such a special occasion. It’s one we will never forget!
