Four Ways to Style a Teddy Coat
It’s time for another wardrobe remix. I’ve previously shown four ways to style overall dresses and four ways to style a jumpsuit. Today, I’m starting with this teddy coat from the brand MKT Studio to show you four ways to style a teddy coat. It’s currently on sale in 4 different colors, so now is the time to buy it!
Four Ways to Style a Teddy Coat
Look One:
MKT Studio teddy coat (on sale, comes in 4 colors)
thrifted floral blouse (this one is a good option)
Topshop pink corduroy mini skirt
I wore a similar look this Fall — same base, with a pink beret and a lightweight Madewell coat — which inspired this particular outfit. Also, I wear this floral blouse with some sort of beige or mustard combination pretty often; it’s in heavy rotation in my closet! Thrift stores are great places to get unique blouses for a bargain. Many of my favorites were $5 or less. I love the thrill of the hunt, but if you’re looking for a one stop shop, Etsy and Ebay are your friends.
Look Two:
Free People suede jumper (several on eBay, or see below for similar options)
Over the knee boots (old, but these and these are similar)
It’s well known that I love everything vintage and vintage inspired, and if there’s any decade of style I lean toward most it’s the 60s. But this one is a marriage of 60s and 70s! I love the trapeze cut of this mini dress and how versatile it is for layering. I paired it with boots, a beret, and a scarf tied around my ponytail for a very mod, 70s cusp look.
Look Three:
vintage navy polka dot blouse (this one is similar)
thrifted belt
old handmade scarf (it was a sample from an accessories line I eventually abandoned)
The most casual look of the 4, this is also probably my most worn. As much as I love skirts and dresses, I wear jeans more than anything. It’s just that I wear these and my Madewell 10″ rises so much, I don’t want to bore you to death with the same outfit over and over. A pair of suede loafers and a silk scarf in my hair makes the outfit a little more interesting. Remember when I used to make clothing? I couldn’t afford to keep it going, and ended up making accessories as a more affordable alternative. I eventually gave that up — it took a lot of time and my heart wasn’t in it — but I still wear them all the time. I sometimes wish I could bring it back!
Look Four:
vintage hands necklace
thrifted belt
Topshop scalloped camisole (old, but I swear by the Downtown Cami from Express)
Keiko x Bonlook glasses
Fun fact: I wore this brooch in the original header of this blog. That was 11 years ago! I’ve had it even longer. The skirt, brooch, necklace, and belt have been in my closet for a very long time — and I know I wear these shoes to death. But like I always say: you should wear the clothing you own, over and over! I switched over from the 60s to the 90s with a midi floral skirt and thick glasses. Speaking of glasses: I know so many of you have been frustrated that my glasses are out of stock. Luckily, we have 2 new styles launching soon and a limited edition version of the originals. I should be receiving the samples this week, so I’m hoping to have more news for you asap. Stay tuned!
