Rockefeller Tree
It’s an annual tradition to visit Rockefeller Center as many times as possible before heading south for Christmas, because the entire area is dressed up in its holiday best and I live for it. I love Christmas time in the city, and though the holidays wouldn’t be the same without my family, I sometimes wish I could hit the lottery and fly them all up to spend Christmas in NYC instead of South Florida. Of course, I would have to play the lottery in order to win, but that’s a minor detail. It’s just not the same in Florida, where the coldest temperatures are still warmer than our highest ones, there’s no chance of snow, and the decorations are a lot less in both abundance and extravagance.
Still, I’m lucky to get to experience New York Christmas magic year after year, and my sister always comes up to help us with holiday photos and partake in the festivities with us. I tried to get the kids up here, but something about “school” and needing to be there for “midterms” — excuses, excuses. 😉
It feels like the holidays are already flying by and I just want to hang onto every Christmas minute. Can’t we stretch it for a few weeks longer, this year?
