Many of us are in an eternal season of loungewear, which is just one step up from pajamas — or in many cases, just pajamas with a new label. I’m not mad about it. I’ve talked a lot about my love of Sleeper, which I like to call “elevated loungewear” because it sounds better than “I’m wearing a nightgown, leave me alone.” But seriously, the idea of making clothes that wear like pajamas but are presentable in the real world (or on your next Zoom call!) is a brilliant one.

This particular dress can be worn off the shoulder or on — as I’m wearing them — and the sleeves are extra puffy which is the way I like them. And I love the elastic smocking, linen fabric, and relaxed fit of this particular dress. I hate wearing anything too restricting for very long, which is why I shed my pants not long after I’m home on normal days.

I was about to say, “I’m not a monster…why would I wear PANTS in my own home?” but I just realized I’m currently wearing my jeans as I write this and I don’t want to be a hypocrite. Does it help my case that they have some stretch to them? And yes, they’re the Madewell jeans I’ve been wearing for years. They’re basically leggings to me. But now that I’ve made myself aware of these jeans, I really want to go put on pajamas. So I’m going to do just that.
