Vintage Valentine
Gingham “Loretta” dress by Hearts and Found, old Marc Fisher heels, vintage scarf, old J.Crew beret, 714 lipstick by Urban Decay.
I say this every year: as far as I’m concerned, every February day is Valentine’s Day. It’s just an excuse for me to wear my favorite color combination, red and pink, and keep my flower heart up all month long.
I had a whole bunch of Valentine’s Day content planned out. But then we got horrible news about Kitty Boos and my whole world stopped. Little Boo was diagnosed with liver cancer last month, and we were completely shocked and devastated. Though his cancer is incurable and, aggressive, he’s currently doing well on his treatment plan. So we are just taking it day by day and soaking up every second with him.

Sometimes it helps me to set small goals for myself to keep myself from spiraling or just sinking into a rut. And since it’s also important for me to continue working through the week, I decided to do a couple of self portraits and accompanying videos. Doing something creative can be such a good mental escape. And I find myself feeling lifted up when I’m done. It’s important to stay in a positive state of mind for Kitty Boos. So I’m really trying my best. And I’m very, very grateful that I have gotten to spend 24/7 with my little kitties every day for the past year.
I just realized that I’m talking about Kitty Boos, but Lacy is in these photos. If you’re new here: Lacy is our sweet little white and orange cat and Kitty Boos is our beloved tabby with big green eyes. He supervised this shoot, but didn’t feel like being photographed;)
